HOUSE OF COLLECTIONS
The Objective
To showcase the emotional value of personal collections in an age of excessive minimalism.
The Strategy
Six collections of (more or less) mundane objects - telephones, buttons, mugs, hats, gnomes and gems - are showcased in different rooms, located underground in the disused tube station at York Road, London.
The descent into the depths of the station represents a descent into the subconscious mind of collectors: by getting to the emotional essence of each collection and displaying it to enhance these aspects, the space aims to compell visitors to start collections of their own.
This was an interdisciplinary group project as part of my BA Fashion Marketing and Promotion at the University of Westminster. All displayed artwork by Daniel Stettler.
